The “secret weapon” for competitiveness in the cosmetics industry

— labeling solutions for cosmetics

The National Bureau of Statistics recently released retail sales of consumer goods for January and February 2023. Cosmetics retail sales came to RMB 65.6 billion, up 3.8% year on year. This was the first official cosmetics retail figure released this year; the growth was modest, but compared with last year’s overall decline it points to a recovery in the industry.

Regulation of the cosmetics industry is getting stricter and the industry is moving toward high-quality development. Since 2021 the state has issued a dense series of policies and regulations setting clear rules for children’s cosmetics, cosmetic efficacy, cosmetic labels, cosmetic raw materials and safety, with specific remediation plans for non-compliant behavior: oversight has been strengthened and the industry is gradually becoming standardized. These policies speed up the removal of substandard companies, push cosmetics companies to improve themselves, allow capable companies to advance further and support high-quality development in the industry. Automating cosmetics production and packaging is therefore an important part of improving a company’s competitiveness. In response, Wanzhi developed a series of automated labeling machines for cosmetics.
