Precautions for automatic two-side labeling machines
Automatic two-side labeling machineIt is suitable for single-label and two-side labeling of flat, round, and square bottles, such as flat shampoo bottles, flat lubricant bottles, round hand sanitizer bottles, and square paint bottles. The machine can label both sides at the same time, improving production efficiency, and is widely used in household and personal care, cosmetics, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
Its operation runs as follows. Products to be labeled are loaded or fed manually or by connection to a production line; the bottle separating wheel sets the spacing and the guide mechanism aligns the products, and the conveyor then carries them into the labeling zone. Driven by the upper and lower conveyors, the products pass the sensor. After receiving the signal, the sensor passes the information to the program memory, which outputs signals at the appropriate positions to control the two labeling heads to dispense labels and apply them at the positions to be labeled, achieving two-side labeling. After the labels are applied, the product passes through the wrap-around mechanism to complete label wrapping, and the label application process is finished; labeled products can be collected at the end of the machine.
The main mechanisms of the automatic two-sideLabeling machinelabeling machine:
1. Bottle separating mechanism, used for spacing between products.
2. Labeling head adjustment base, adjustable in the X, Y, Z, and R directions.
3. Labeling head, which includes the unwinding mechanism, roller mechanism, peel mechanism, take-up mechanism, pulling mechanism, and pulling motor.
4. Conveyor, which carries products to be labeled into the labeling zone and carries labeled products out of it.
5. Spring-loaded top hold-down conveyor, which keeps products stable during conveying and effectively compensates for slight height differences between bottles.
6. Guide mechanism, which aligns products as they enter the labeling zone.
7. Label wrap-around mechanism, which wraps the label immediately after application on square and flat bottles to ensure labeling accuracy. A two-stage wrap-around mechanism also effectively eliminates bubbles and ensures the label ends are firmly attached.
8. Round-bottle positioning and wrap-around mechanism, used for positioning round bottles during labeling and wrapping the label afterward.
9. Touch screen, the human-machine interface used to start and stop the machine, change and adjust parameters, and monitor I/O status.
10. Control cabinet, which houses the machine’s electrical wiring.
Adjustment methods for this type of labeling machine:
1. Install the label roll correctly, and route the label web as neatly as possible; crooked routing makes the label easy to break. After installation, secure the position with the limit rings.
2. Adjust the bottle separating and guide mechanisms according to the width of the products to be labeled. The distance between the two separating wheels should be slightly less than the product width, by 2-4 mm; the guide mechanism should be about the same as the product width or 1 mm narrower, and the channel should preferably be aligned with the middle of the conveyor.
3. Adjust the spring-loaded top hold-down conveyor according to product height, and set it appropriately for the product material (to press the product). Its main function is to keep products from shifting during transport. If the product material is soft, do not press too hard: excessive pressure deforms bottles and affects labeling.
4. Adjust the labeling head position in the Z direction according to the height of the product’s labeling area, so that as soon as the label web is pulled, the label is peeled and applied to the labeling area on the product. Lock the Z axis after adjustment.
5. Adjust the label sensors on heads 1 and 2 separately. Peel off one label that is about to enter the sensor detection area, press and hold the button on the label sensor to enter the setting state, use manual pulling on the touch screen manual page to pull the label web so that the liner with the label removed passes completely through the sensor detection area, then press the button on the label sensor again to confirm the setting. If the label sensor is a fiber-optic sensor, set the output preset value on the amplifier according to the different signal values picked up from the label and the liner on the roll.
6. Control the label pre-peel length. For this type of two-side labeling machine the pre-peel length is not uniform; it can be adjusted flexibly according to the label size and the shape of the bottle’s two sides by moving the label sensor position.
7. Adjust the product sensor so that a signal is output when a product passes in front of it. (Set the sensor according to the instructions for its type and brand.)
8. Adjust the conveying speed, then match the labeling head pulling speed to the current conveying speed. At the optimal setting, each label application sounds crisp, with no dragging sound and no wrinkled labels. Conveying speed = pulling speed.
9. Adjust the label wrap-around mechanism. For square and flat bottles, sponge and brushes are generally used. The force of the wrap-around mechanism should be evenly distributed, avoiding concentration at a single point that would wrinkle the label. Round bottles use a dedicated round-bottle positioning and wrap-around mechanism, where the product is labeled and wrapped. The space when the positioning mechanism extends should be about 3 mm smaller than the product width.
10. Control the label position in the specified X-direction area. Apply labels with the labeling delay on the touch screen set to 0, and adjust the X direction forward or backward depending on whether the label is dispensed early or too late. If the label is peeled too early, the sensor is detecting the product too soon: move the head in the negative X direction; otherwise move it in the positive X direction. Lock the X axis after adjustment. If the adjustment base has reached its limit and the labeling requirement still cannot be met, adjust the sensor position instead: if the label is peeled too early, move the sensor in the positive X direction; if the label is peeled too late, move it in the negative X direction. If the label is still peeled too early at the sensor’s limit, set the labeling delay parameter appropriately.
11. Adjust the labeling head position in the Y direction according to the labeling result so that labels are applied consistently in the specified direction. Lock the Y axis after adjustment.
12. Adjust the peel plate so that it is roughly parallel to the product surface; this is done with the R axis of the adjustment base. Lock the R axis after adjustment.
Precautions:
1. Do not start the machine before you clearly understand the correct operating method and safety rules.
2. Untrained and unauthorized personnel must not use this machine.
3. Read this manual carefully and understand all contents and instructions before using the machine.
4. Operate the equipment only after installation and the necessary adjustments have been confirmed complete.
5. Before starting, confirm that no tools or objects are left on any surface of the machine.
6. Do not touch the inside of the machine or electrical components while the power is on.
7. While the equipment is running, the operator must not leave the machine’s working area.
8. Inspection and repair of electrical control circuits must be carried out by qualified electrical personnel.
9. Do not use the machine outside the specified environmental conditions.
10. Keep up with regular cleaning and maintenance to extend the machine’s service life: clean at least once a week and apply protective treatment once a month.
