Introduction
In cultural and creative gifts, garment accessories, and premium food packaging, cards, hang tags, and similar flat materials often use gloss or lamination to enhance quality. Conventional mechanical roller feeding, however, easily leaves friction scratches on the surface, and thin materials drift at high conveying speed. Achieving damage-free separation and efficient labeling for scratch-prone materials is a core pain point in line upgrades.
Pain points of conventional sheet-feeder labeling and our solution
Conventional sheet-feeder labeling faces three technical bottlenecks with appearance-critical products: first, mechanical roller pressure and friction scratch laminated or glossy surfaces; second, improper belt tension control deforms or misaligns thin materials; third, manual sheet-by-sheet loading is slow and inconsistent. To address these, Wanzhi Automation developed the WZ-123 vacuum pick-and-place sheet-feeder labeling machine. Designed for scratch-prone flat materials, it introduces vacuum suction technology, replacing the conventional mechanical friction approach and eliminating the risk of surface damage by design, providing a reliable automated solution for appearance-critical products.
Vacuum pick-and-place sheet feeding technology and specifications
The core advantages of the WZ-123 are its innovative vacuum pick-and-place structure and precise control logic. First, vacuum suction cups pick up and separate stacked material one sheet at a time with no hard frictional contact, fully protecting appearance. Second, for conveying and labeling, a highly sensitive photoelectric sensor detects material position in real time and triggers dispensing precisely. This photoelectric coordination effectively guarantees labeling accuracy, holding error strictly within ±1 mm and greatly reducing missed and offset labels.
In terms of specifications, the conveyor belt speed is steplessly adjustable from 20 to 35 M/min, matching different capacity rhythms. The machine also handles a wide material range: flat products 0.5-5 mm thick and 80-400 mm long. Its modular design allows multi-head modules or an inline coder to be added for integrated sheet-feeder labeling with production date and barcode printing, improving overall production efficiency.
Selection criteria and practical applications
When selecting equipment and planning a production line, pay close attention to material characteristics and expansion requirements. The WZ-123 reliably handles cards, unformed cartons and plastic packaging bags from 0.5-5mm thick. If a product needs labels on several surfaces at once or requires traceability information, we recommend the multi-head and printing options. In practice, the touch screen supplied by Wanzhi stores parameter recipes, so when you switch to a different product you only need to recall the preset parameters and fine-tune the mechanical positions, which greatly shortens changeover time. The system is widely used in volume production of printed paper products, garment hang tags and cultural creative gifts, where surface protection requirements are strict.
FAQ
Does vacuum pick-and-place sheet feeding have requirements for the initial condition of the material?
The material needs to stay basically flat. If cards are severely warped or have curled edges, the airtight seal of the suction cups and the pick-up success rate may suffer, so we recommend flattening the material before loading.
Is changeover complicated when switching the machine to a different material size?
The machine uses a modular mechanical structure and a visual touch screen. When changing products, simply recall the stored parameter recipe on the screen and make minor adjustments to the physical stops; changeover is completed quickly without complex specialist setup.
How is label position consistency maintained at high conveying speeds?
Besides precise photoelectric sensor triggering, the labeling station is fitted with a flexible press roller or smoothing mechanism, which ensures the label lies flat the moment it contacts the product and prevents shifting or wrinkling caused by high-speed airflow or inertia.
